The 2019 Empowering Visionaries Awards Gala is a signature NBMBAA DFW Chapter celebration and peer-nominated awards ceremony for Dallas – Fort Worth movers and shakers.
This upscale social event will profile the outstanding efforts of students, professionals, and entrepreneurs influencing the growth, prosperity, and quality of life for African-Americans in the DFW Metroplex.

The Empowering Visionaries Award Recipients are selected from a broad pool of deserving nominees through a non-biased peer-nominated process. Our diverse planning and selection committee evaluates nominees across our key pillars: Career, Professional Development, and Economic Prosperity.
Member of the Year
The 2019 Member of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding, well-rounded, active member with MBA, who exemplifies the mission of the NBMBAA through fostering an environment for lifelong learning, commitment to the principles that build leadership, exemplifies a high standard of ethics personally and organizationally, and development of future leaders within the organization and/more broadly within the community.
Emerging Leader of the Year
The 2019 Emerging Leader of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding active member under 30 or with less than 8 years of professional business experience who have contributed above and beyond in their career by exemplifying the mission of the NBMBAA. This individual pursues lifelong learning, and a commitment to leading dually in their career and the community.
Community Champion of the Year
The 2019 Community Champion Award recognizes an outstanding, active member who demonstrates servant leadership in his/her organization or the broader community; has high standard of ethics personally and organizationally; and, development of future leaders within the organization and/or more broadly within the community.
Entrepreneur of the Year
The 2019 Entrepreneur of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding, active member who owns and leads a business which services and/or supports the enrichment of the African-American community on a local or regional level; demonstrated visionary leadership within his/her organization or the broader community; high standard of ethics personally and organizationally; and, demonstrated creativity and innovation by providing innovative solutions in their field or the broader community.
General Eligible Nominees:
- are individuals living or working in Dallas – Fort Worth for a minimum of one year by December 1, 2019
- are individuals who are active financial members of the National Black MBA Association – Dallas Chapter
- are not recipients of previous Empowering Visionaries Awards.
